Dear Editor:
While we don't want the retirement tale of the Neraida to be prolonged we feel we must answer the quote 'not a safe investment'. It has been a safe investment for us for fifteen years – the only difference being that we have only done as much business as was needed for the two of us. Why would we need to build a business which would support five adults and two children as the Clark family would need?
Anyone who knows the Neraida will realise what potential it has for many different projects.
We don't know the Clark family very well as we didn't have many meetings directly with them to discuss the business but we wish them all the best and sincerely hope that they find a good business to support so many people safely.

Neraida
Dear Tony and Chris:
You're right, enough is enough – so this will be the final word on the subject. All of the people who have known and supported you over the last 15 years are well aware of the excellent business you have built through your dedication and creative
endeavours, and we thank you for it. The Neraida has been more than a restaurant – it has been a community landmark.

Dear Editor:
Please include me in your e-mail list so that I can read your very well done publication. I especially liked your stories about air base at Gournes as I was stationed there circa August 1964- February 1966. Crete is a wonderful place as are the Greek people. Perhaps someday I will find time to return to what I am sure is a very different looking place and the very nice Greek people.

Dear Editor
In regard to the item in your August Pet Corner column, one of our remedies to the question "how can I stop cats from digging in my flower pots" is simple. Cut plastic drinking straws in half and stick them in the soil and you will find that it will deter the cats. Another option is wooden skewers but that may be a bit painful for the cat if they do attempt to dig!! Or, of course, just get a dog!

Dear Editor
A lot of people, local and tourists, like to eat or drink at Ousies or at the other cafe bar at the corner across from the Hatzis Supermarket. Well, it is disgusting to eat or drink there, because of all the tour buses, as well as the regular city buses. They cause a traffic jam, and blow fumes and soot over everything, ruining the taste and smell of food. It's even worse when the big trucks are making deliveries at the supermarket. Why can't they use other roads, like the road under the bridge to Anopolis? Why doesn't the government do something about this, like ban the buses from using that intersection? It will solve much of the traffic problem and also make that corner more attractive to our visitors.
Ronald (last name withheld by request)
Dear Ronald with no last name:
You're absolutely right about the terrible problem caused by buses and trucks at that intersection. In fact, in this month's page one story Manolis Plevrakis addresses that problem, and several others.
