The popular local Greek language classes conducted by Sophia Klidi will begin in October, with new, expanded sessions to include Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. They will be held at the Café Nesta in Kokkini Hani.
Sophia, a native of Rethymno, uses the "everyday" approach to teaching Greek to foreigners. While students are instructed in proper sentence structure and verb usage, a portion of each Beginners and Intermediate class puts special emphasis on everyday conversational Greek – terms and phrases relating to the daily needs of newly arrived foreigners, such as shopping and dealing with places like the electric or telephone companies.
